We are a family of creativity, a love of animals and a long overdue site to sell some of our most cherished crafts. A variety of woodworking, crocheting and painting works of art are just a part of what we are about. We hope our fun family stories and humorous tales about us and our goats, Sunshine & Dixie will help you enjoy our artwork even more.
My husband is the woodworker, with that talent coming from his father that passed several years ago. He grew up watching and learning the techniques of taking old, used furniture, and making it alive and beautiful again. He now loves the process of picking out wood, designing it, and then turning it into a piece of art. You will see a variety of items such as hand turned bowls and cups, with inlays of resin or acrylic paints. He also enjoys making a variety of ice cream scoops, veggie peelers, and even rings.
My love is for crocheting. I have only had several years under my belt, but this has become my favorite pastime (outside of spoiling my grandson and new granddaughter). The hours just fly by as I plan, design, search for the perfect yarn and then create a masterpiece. I love creating a variety of Afghans, but with a new grandchild, I have been making many different baby things (bonnets, blankets, stuff animals etc.).
My daughter will also be contributing her paintings. She is an Art Teacher, with an extreme talent for painting and drawing. Our logo is a great example of her work. She went to college and studied Theatre Production & Design and minored in Fine Arts. Lately her works have been developing watercolor painting for themed rooms such as a baby’s room, home gym, and home office.
I must admit it has taken us some deep soul searching to part with our works of art, but knowing they are going to someone to love, use and cherish will be rewarding. We hope you will enjoy browsing our website and reading about our adventures. Let us know if you have any questions.
